Biographical Summary:
A student who enlisted in the AIF on 7 October 1916. On 29 May 1917 he married Anabel (Nan) Reay, one of Mosman’s Cheer-Oh Girls entertainment group and sister of William Grafton Reay. He embarked for England on 30 October 1917 and arrived on 27 December.
He immediately commenced further training in England as a reinforcement for the 2nd Pioneer Battalion. On 1 April 1918 he was sent for signals training which he completed in January 1919. He joined the battalion in France on 29 January 1919.
He embarked for Australia on 25 March 1919 and arrived on 10 May then was discharged from the AIF on 5 June 1919. [JSB]
