Biographical Summary:
A medical practitioner who enlisted as a private in the AIF on 24 January 1915 aged 49; understating his age by four years and being over the maximum age of 45. He embarked for England on 29 March 1916 and arrived in June.
He was absent without leave for eight days soon after. Subsequently while he was on leave in late July, he failed to report that he had been in hospital until 13 days after he was due to return from leave. It was decided that he should return to Australia.
He embarked on 12 September and arrived on 1 November then was discharged from the AIF on 8 November 1916. [JSB]
