Biographical Summary:
A legal clerk with the NSW Department of Public Works who enlisted in the AIF on 8 March 1915. He embarked for Egypt with the 5th Field Ambulance on 31 May.
He landed at Gallipoli in the third week of August. In the second week of October he showed the first symptoms of enteric and was hospitalised before eventually being evacuated to Malta and then Egypt for treatment and convalescence.
He embarked for Australia on 21 January 1916 and arrived 29 February. After further convalescence he returned to duty on 31 May and commenced training as a reinforcement for the 22nd Howitzer Battery. He was assessed as medically unfit and discharged from the AIF on 22 January 1917. [JSB]
