Biographical Summary:
A clerk who enlisted in the AIF on 3 May 1915. He embarked for Egypt on 9 August 1915.
He joined the 1st Australian Light Horse Regiment (ALH) at Gallipoli on 13 November and returned to Egypt on 27 December. On 22 February 1916 he was transferred to the 12th ALH. He was evacuated to hospital on 7 May 1917 and subsequently diagnosed with a tumour on his right eye and “irritable heart”. It was decided that he should return to Australia.
He embarked on 11 July and arrived on 22 August then discharged from the AIF on 21 September 1917. [JSB]
