Biographical Summary:
A postal assistant at Mosman Post Office who enlisted on 31 July 1917. He embarked for England on 19 December and arrived on 13 February 1918.
He commenced final training in England as a reinforcement for the 1st Battalion but was transferred to the Signals Training Depot to commence specialist training. He joined the 5th Australian Divisional Signals Company in France on 10 October. In January he became seriously ill with appendicitis. After treatment, he was evacuated to England for further treatment and convalescence.
He embarked for Australia on 3 May and arrived 22 June then was discharged from the AIF on 15 July 1919. [JSB]
