Biographical Summary:
A clerk who enlisted in the AIF on 26 November 1916. He embarked for England on 11 May and arrived on 10 July 1916.
He joined the 7th Field Artillery Brigade in January 1917. He was wounded (shoulder) in action on 8 October when the brigade was near Zonnebeke, Belgium. He was initially evacuated to Abbeville, France and then to England for treatment and convalescence.
He remained with holding units in England until the end of the war. In April 1918 he was hospitalised for treatment of nephritis and then again in August for an abscess on his appendix.
He embarked for Australia on 24 December 1918 and arrived on 16 February. He continued to receive medical treatment on his return and was discharged medically unfit from the AIF on 16 December 1919. [JSB]
