Biographical Summary:

A bank manager who enlisted in the AIF on 16 September 1915. Following officer training he was appointed a Second Lieutenant on 16 March 1916. He embarked for England on 5 August 1916 and arrived on 30 September.

He joined the 30th Battalion on 7 February 1917 at Fricourt east of Albert, France. On 17 May 1918 he was attached as Intelligence Officer to Headquarters 8th Infantry Brigade.

He embarked for Australia on 4 January and arrived on 20 February 1919. His appointment in the AIF was terminated on 4 April 1919. [JSB]
