Biographical Summary:

A mechanical engineer with the NSW Railways who enlisted in the AIF on 18 July 1918, understating his age by four years. He embarked for England on 22 October 1918 as a reinforcement for the Australian Railway Companies.

With the end of the war the ship turned back and he disembarked at Adelaide on 28 December. The ship had arrived at Fremantle on 9 December but had been quarantined until 21 December due to an outbreak of influenza. He was discharged from the AIF on 28 April 1919. [JSB]
