Biographical Summary:
A carrier who enlisted in the AIF on 13 March 1916. He embarked for England on 22 September and arrived on 11 November 1916.
He was relatively quickly sent to France, marching into the 2nd Australian Division Base Depot at Etaples on 14 December as a reinforcement for the 22nd Battalion but on 20 December he was evacuated to England for medical treatment. From February 1917 onwards he was posted to various convalescence units before it was decided that he should return to Australia “for change”.
He embarked on 22 July and arrived on 24 September and then was discharged from the AIF on 30 October 1917. [JSB]
