Biographical Summary:
Engaged in pastoral pursuits when he enlisted in the AIF on 20 September 1915. He embarked for Egypt on 18 November and landed on 21 December 1915.
He was allotted to the 5th Field Artillery Brigade (FAB). He embarked for Marseilles, France on 19 March and arrived on 25 March 1916. He was sent to Officer Cadet School in England in July 1918 and on 3 January 1919 he was appointed a Second Lieutenant.
On 2 April, he married Jessie Nelson Mary Dorothy Gerrie at London but there is no record of her coming to Australia. He embarked for Australia on 27 April and arrived on 10 June 1919. His appointment in the AIF was terminated on 4 August 1919. [JSB]
