Biographical Summary:
A labourer who enlisted in the AIF on 17 April 1916. He embarked for England on 7 September 1916 and arrived on 2 November 1916.
He joined the 41st Battalion in France on 7 February 1917. He was wounded (left chest) in action on 2 August 1917 when the 41st was in the front line at Messines, France. He was evacuated to England where, after his initial recovery, he was assessed in late October 1917 as being medically unfit.
He embarked for Australia on 11 January 1918 and arrived on 4 March 1918. He was discharged from the AIF on 9 April 1918. [JSB]
