Biographical Summary:
A labourer who enlisted in the AIF on 29 September 1915. He embarked for Egypt as a reinforcement for the 7th Light Horse Regiment on 2 November 1915 and arrived in late December 1915.
He transferred to the 10th Field Artillery Brigade in March 1916. His unit moved to France in June 1916. He was wounded (left leg, jaw) in action on 10 October 1917 when his unit was providing artillery support near Zonnebeke, Belgium. He was evacuated to England for treatment and convalescence. In March 1918 he was transferred to a training unit where he remained until he returned to France. He rejoined his unit on 18 May 1918.
He embarked for Australia on 1 May 1919 and arrived on 11 June 1919. He was discharged from the AIF on 3 August 1919.[JSB]
