Biographical Summary:
A public servant who enlisted in the AIF in May 1917. He departed for England on 8 August 1917 and arrived on 2 October 1917.
He joined the 3rd Field Company Engineers in France on 7 February 1918. On 4 March 1918, he was wounded (lower jaw) in action when his unit was carrying out works along the front line in the Hollebeke, Belgium sector, south-west of Ypres. After treatment and convalescence in France he returned to his unit on 26 April 1918.
He departed for Australia on 17 July 1919 and arrived on 2 September 1919. [JSB]
