Biographical Summary:
Enlisted in the AIF in April 1915. He joined the 18th Battalion at Gallipoli on 1 August 1915 and then went on to serve in France. He received multiple gunshot wounds on 21 June 1916 and died later that day at the 8th Casualty Clearing Station at Bailleul, France.
He put down that he was born in Mosman when he enlisted. This was incorrect as he came from Bow, London. There is a connection with Mosman through a telegram in his service file from Miss A Johnson of 274 Military Road, Mosman. [JSB]
