Killed in action on 25 September 1918 in the charge by the 11th Australian Light Horse Regiment on Samakh, Palestine (modern day Israel).
Mentioned in despatches for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as a stretcher bearer during an action at Sheria, Palestine on 7 November 1917. He was wounded at that time. [JSB]
