Biographical Summary:
At enlistment he nominated his brother, Roy Melrose Macdougal, of Bank of New South Wales, Sydney as next of kin (Attestation).
He was living at "Bundemar", Reynolds Street, Neutral Bay (Embarkation Roll), the address of Roy Melrose Macdougal (daughter's birth notice, SMH, 1 August 1914, p20).
There are verifiable associations with Mosman. George Ross Macdougal was living at 105 Raglan Street, Mosman at the time of his death on 20 March 1930. His brother, Roy Melrose Macdougal was living at Mosman at the time of his death in 1929, and another brother, Herbert Halkerston Macdougal, was also living in Mosman in 1930.
He was wounded in action at Hermies on 9 April 1917 (gun shot wound right thigh) and at Broodseinde Ridge on 4 October 1917 (gun shot wounds to right shoulder, neck and head). [JSB]
