Biographical Summary:

Awarded the Military Medal. The citation in the London Gazette was as follows:

T./2nd Lt. Nathaniel Gordon Farquhar,
K.R.R.C.

For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as battalion signalling officer. He was continually in the open under heavy shell fire organising line repairs. He set a splendid example to his men which resulted in
communication being maintained in the face
of great difficulties. He also carried out a
valuable reconnaissance under fire from the enemy.
