Son of J. B. Colquhoun, Ross-dhu Muston Street, Mosman.
Member of the original boy scout troop, Mosman. Educated SCEGS (left 1917) and Sydney University.
Student on the Fifth Course at New South Wales State Aviation School, Richmond, qualifying for flying certificate July 1918. Joined Australian Flying Corps.
