Biographical Summary:
Served at Gallipoli.
Awarded the Military Cross for his participation in the charge on Beersheba. The recommendation for the award submitted by the Brigade commander reads:
"BEERSHEEBA 31.10.17. This officer is recommended for his courage, determination, resourcefulness and initiative in action. In the final assault on Beersheba he rendered such valuable assistance with his cool daring and quick action that the small force of less than six troops maintained such organisation as to enable them to capture 700 prisoners including 38 officers, 9 guns, 3 M. guns and a large quantity of other war material.” (Honours and Awards: Rodney Keith Robey, AWM)
