Biographical Summary:
Enlisted in the AIF in August 1915. He was a stretcher bearer with the 45th Battalion when he was wounded on 14 August 1916 at Pozieres. After treatment in France and England, he returned to Australia in December 1916. He received further treatment at Georges Heights military hospital before resuming duties in February 1917. He was discharged from the AIF in March 1917. [JSB]
