Biographical Summary:
Enlisted in the AIF in October 1916 and left Australia in November 1916 and joined the 19th Battalion in May 1917. He was wounded in action (gunshot wound to his back) on 17 July 1918 when his battalion was in action near Villers-Bretonneux. After treatment in France and England, he was invalided to Australia. He arrived in February 1919 and was discharged two months later. [JSB]
