Biographical Summary:
Enlisted in the AIF in October 1914. He joined the 1st Battalion as a reinforcement at Gallipoli on 2 May 1915. He was severely wounded on 6 August 1915 at the Battle of Lone Pine and was evacuated to Malta and then to England for treatment of a gunshot wound to his chest. He embarked on 7 November 1915 to return to Australia and arrived at Sydney on Christmas Day 1915. He was discharged from the AIF on 27 March 1916. {JSB]
