Biographical Summary:
Prisoner of war.
Member of the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force. He was captured at sea on 6 August 1917 by the German Raider "Wolf" while on board the SS Matunga, while returning to Rabaul from leave in Australia. After more than 6 months at sea, he was placed in a prison camp at Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany from 6 March 1918. [JSB]
