Biographical Summary:
George Leatham Roberts joined the Royal Australian Navy on 12 September 1914 as a Boy Second Class on board the training ship, HMAS Tingara. He was invalided from the Navy on 30 September 1915 and died at Mosman on 16 October 1915, aged 16.
His service on board HMAS Tingara made him eligible for the British War Medal (Commonwealth Naval Order 111 of 1920). Award of this medal appears to be the primary eligibility test for those whose names appear on the Mosman War Memorial. {JSB]
