Biographical Summary:
Eldest son of Frank and Laura Saunders, of "Red car", Middle Head Road, Mosman. (Other addresses in the service record, probably later, include: "Claremont", 21 Queen Street, Mosman; and, 7 Milner Street, Mosman.)
Trade, mechanical engineer.
Served at Gallipoli from 25 October 1915.
Wounded in action ("shell shock" is mentioned in the service records, as well as "gassed" in the unit's war diary), 23 July 1916, Battle of Pozières; died the following day at 44th Casualty Clearing Station.
