A Brave Act
Coroner's Tribute
The City Coroner (Mr May) at the conclusion of an inquest yesterday, concerning the drowning of John Henry Lutge, whose fishing boat capsized off Dobroyd Point on February 2, commended Ronald H. Stewart for his attempt to save Lutge's life. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
Mr Stewart, who is a commercial artist, residing in Cowles Rd, Mosman, said that when he saw Lutge in the water clinging to the keel of his overturned boat he went into the water and swam to him. He brought the man to the rocks, but attempts at resuscitation were unavailing.
Sergeant Smith, of the Water Police, said that Stewart's act had been brought under the notice of the Royal Life Saving Society.
