Born: 1 January 1875
A labourer who enlisted in the AIF on 15 February 1915. He embarked for Egypt on 25 June 1915.
He joined the 18th Battalion at Gallipoli in August 1915. Following the withdrawal from Gallipoli, he returned to Egypt on 9 January 1916.
Between February 1916 and April 1918 he was admitted to hospital several times in Egypt and England and in convalescence. In April 1918, he was considered fit again for front line service. He rejoined the 18th Battalion on 24 May 1918.
He embarked for Australia on 20 May 1919 and arrived on 1 July then was discharged from the AIF on 3 September 1919. [JSB]
