"During the attack on Amman on March 28th while using a Hotchkins Gun in action was badly wounded in the thigh, at the same time the No 2 on the Gun was wounded in the arm. Burbank despite his wound struggled back bringing the gun and spare parts bag. He was found in an exhausted condition half (sic) to his lines, he was placed on a horse and rode back to the Regiment still carrying the gun and spare parts bag.
