An accountant who enlisted in the AIF on 17 April 1916. He embarked for Egypt on 20 October and arrived on 2 December 1916.
He joined the Headquarters, Army Service Corps, Australian Mounted Division on 3 February 1917. He undertook duties with a number of supply units before being evacuated to hospital on 25 April suffering from haemorrhoids.
Following treatment and convalescence, in July 1917 he was transferred to the Australian Army Pay Corps, Australian Headquarters at Cairo.
He embarked on leave for England on 9 July 1919. He embarked for Australia on 15 November 1919 and arrived on 9 January then was discharged from the AIF on 23 February 1920. [JSB]
