A milk vendor who enlisted in the AIF on 24 July 1916. He embarked for England on 30 September and arrived on 19 November 1916.
He joined the 8th Field Artillery Brigade at Strazeele, France on 6 January 1917. He was evacuated on 3 October 1917 to hospital in France then England with appendicitis. Following treatment it was found that he had "cardiac insufficiency" and should return to Australia.
He embarked on 24 April 1918 and arrived on 7 June then was discharged medically unfit from the AIF on 13 September 1918. [JSB]
