A farmer who enlisted in the AIF on 2 January 1816. He embarked for Egypt on 4 May and arrived on 10 May 1916.
He arrived at Marseilles, France on 8 August as a reinforcement for the 60th Battalion. Soon after he was transferred to England where he arrived on 21 August and was sent to the 15th Training Battalion at Hurdcott where he remained until he was reclassified in March 1917 as unfit for front line service. He was attached then transferred to the 1st Australian Dermatological Hospital at Bulford from May.
He embarked for Australia on 19 October and arrived on 16 December 1917 then was discharged medically unfit from the AIF on 15 June 1918. [JSB]
