A bushman who enlisted in the AIF on 12 October 1914. He embarked for Egypt on 22 December 1914.
He landed at Gallipoli with the 4th Battalion on 25 April 1915. He was wounded (shoulder) in action on 9 May and evacuated for treatment and convalescence.
He rejoined the Battalion at Gallipoli on 20 June. He was wounded (right hand and knee) in action for a second time on 7 August at the Battle of Lone Pine. He was evacuated to Egypt and then England for treatment and convalescence.
He embarked for Australia on 19 March 1916 and arrived on 30 April then was discharged from the AIF on 12 September 1916. [JSB]
