An engineer who enlisted in the AIF on 22 September 1915. He embarked for Egypt on 20 January 1916 and arrived on 27 February.

He was allotted on 18 March to the 14th Field Company Engineers. He arrived in Marseilles, France on 9 June and moved to northern France. He was wounded (shell shock) in action on 2 September 1916 when his unit was working in the front line near Fleurbaix. He was evacuated to the 1st then the 5th Convalescence Depots in France and then on 4 October he was moved to the Australian General Base Depot at Etaples, France. He rejoined his unit on 14 November. On 22 January 1917 he was transferred to the 4th Field Company Engineers.

He embarked for Australia on 13 April 1919 and arrived on 12 June then was discharged from the AIF on 4 August 1919.

He was the stepson of Frederick Percival Pring. [JSB]
