A clerk who enlisted in the AIF on 18 September 1916. He embarked for England on 9 November 1916 and arrived on 9 January 1917.

Following training in England, he joined the 38th Battalion in France on 8 November 1917. He was wounded (left arm) in action on 1 October 1918 when the 38th Battalion was attacking the German lines near Bony, France close to the St Quentin Canal.

He embarked for Australia on 31 March and arrived on 18 May 1919 and then was discharged from the AIF on 4 June 1919. [JSB]
