A clerk who enlisted in the AIF on 18 May 1915, understating his age, by three years, as 44 instead of 47. He embarked for Egypt on 19 June 1915.
He embarked for Gallipoli on 16 August and landed two days later. He was wounded (right shoulder, right hand and left leg) in action on 22 August 1915. He was evacuated the next day to Mudros, Greece for initial treatment and then to England for further treatment and convalescence.
He embarked for Australia on 12 December 1915 and arrived on 29 January 1916. He was discharged from the AIF on 9 July 1916. [JSB]
