An optician's student who enlisted in the AIF on 12 November 1917. He embarked for England on 16 June 1918 and arrived on 26 August 1918.
He was then allotted the 14th Training Battalion with the expectation of serving with the 55th Battalion. He was admitted to hospital with influenza on 27 September and remained there until 27 November 1918. He remained in England until his return to Australia.
He embarked for Australia on 18 January and arrived on 15 March 1919 and was then discharged from the AIF on 1 April 1919. [JSB]
