Born: 21 June 1889
A stockman who enlisted in the AIF on 8 March 1916. He embarked for England on 22 August and arrived on 13 October 1916.
He joined the 13th Battalion on 19 December 1916 when it was out of the front line and billeted at Coisy north of Amiens. He was wounded (head and other locations) in action on 4 February 1917 when the 13th made a night time attack of the German line at Gueudecourt, France. After treatment in France for four weeks, he was evacuated to England. Following his recovery it was decided to send him home.
He embarked for Australia on 4 May 1917 and arrived on 4 July 1917 and was then discharged medically unfit from the AIF on 7 September 1917. [JSB]
