A carpenter who enlisted in the AIF in December 1914. He served with the 1st Field Company Engineers at Gallipoli from 19 July to 22 August 1915 before he was evacuated to Malta and England with diarrhoea and colic (dysentery). He embarked for Australia in January 1916 and arrived on 29 February 1916. He was discharged from the AIF in April 1916.
