Daughter of Presbyterian minister, the Reverend Andrew Chapman, of Westray, Arbutus Street,  Mosman. The Reverend Chapman (born 1845, Dundee, Scotland) and his second wife Elizabeth Rendall Logie (born 1852, Westray, Orkney Islands) had migrated to Australia in 1890, settling in Queensland.

Minnie Chapman trained at Brisbane Hospital. She embarked on the Orontes on 14 April 1915, and Dr Kirsty Harris' database lists her service  with the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service Reserve as follows:

Her half-sister Mary Sang Chapman also served with the QAIMNSR and won the Royal Red Cross.

Minnie Chapman married Lieutenant Roy Wilkinson of Albion in 1921.
