H'Qtrs., to the front line, a distance of 3000 yds. over heavily shelled ground, the last 1,300 yds. being in full view of enemy snipers and machine guns.  The tape was laid speedily reaching the front line approximately an hour after its capture from the enemy, and thus giving great assistanc to the runners and Stretch Bearers ETC.  Great coolness and judgement was needed fo the location of the track.  This N.C.O. appeared to disregard all danger setting a splendid example to those with him and the many passing him at work.
