A labourer who enlisted in the AIF on 27 March 1916. He embarked for England on 16 August and arrived on 13 October 1916.

He joined the 44th Battalion in England on 25 October 1916. The Battalion arrived in France on 26 November and immediately moved to northern France. He was wounded (left leg) in action at the Battle of St Quentin Canal on 29 September 1918 and evacuated to England for treatment and convalescence.

He embarked for Australia on 25 January 1919 and arrived on 14 March then was discharged from the AIF on 3 May 1919. [JSB]
