A horse driver who enlisted in the AIF on 16 August 1915, understating his age by six years. He embarked for Egypt on 27 November 1915 with the 20th Company, Australian Army Service Corps (AASC).
He was transferred to the 14th AASC Company, 4th Divisional Train. His unit arrived at Marseille, Franceoin 12 June 1916 and moved to Abbeville in northern France.
He embarked for Australia on 12 May 1919 and arrived on 5 July then was discharged from the AIF on 27 August 1919. [JSB]
